Amy Ruiz was found guilty Tuesday in Gwinnett County of involuntary manslaughter in the 2007 death of her daughter, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Ruiz also was convicted of cruelty to children and concealing the death of a child, Channel 2 reported.

The 2-year-old girl, Prisi, was found wrapped in plastic and in the attic of the family's Gwinnett County home, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution previously reported.

Ruiz cried in Gwinnett Superior Court on Friday, when she insisted that husband Christian Vasquez wouldn’t let her call 911 on Feb. 3, 2007, when she returned home to find her daughter in distress.

The couple fled to Mexico with a son from Ruiz’s previous marriage. Ruiz was arrested in 2009 on a child cruelty charge as she crossed the Mexican border into Texas. The charge was upgraded in 2015 by the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office.

Ruiz’s original trial was delayed from February. A potential juror disobeyed court instructions and looked up information on the case on the internet.
