Gwinnett man allegedly threatens to kill girlfriend — and judge, police officers
A man was arrested after threatening to murder his girlfriend — and anyone who got in his way, including police and a judge.
Rochell McCoy, 51, of Lilburn, was upset about a temporary restraining order his girlfriend filed against him, which prompted him to allegedly send multiple threatening text messages to her, Gwinnett County police told Channel 2 Action News.
In warrants obtained by Channel 2, McCoy is accused of sending more than 20 texts in a few hours that were laced with profanity and threats of violence.
“I am sitting by your place and waiting to shoot you in the skull and face ... you gone die today and your daughter,” one of the messages said, according to the warrant.
Another text was aimed at everyone in the courtroom.
“I will kill the (expletive) judge and every (expletive) body in that courtroom. I ain’t scared of going to jail.”
The girlfriend called 911 and McCoy was arrested Monday on charges of aggravated stalking, terroristic threats and harassing phone calls, according to Gwinnett County Jail records. He was denied bond.
Channel 2 reported that McCoy’s girlfriend has since called police to ask that the charged be dropped, but they have not been dismissed so far.
