A 14-year-old accused of robbery and homicide in the shooting death of a Gwinnett County pizza delivery driver left $62 in the victim’s pocket, police said.

Reginald Lofton, a 14-year-old who is being charged as an adult, and Jermaine Young, 21, face charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery in the March 1 shooting death of Shane Varnadore, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Both Lofton and Young are from Lawrenceville.

They appeared during a Gwinnett County court hearing Friday in connection with the slaying. A Facebook photo of Lofton holding a gun was presented in Gwinnett County court Friday during a hearing in the case.

Gwinnett County Police Detective Matthew Kenck testified that investigators who searched the suspects’ Lawrenceville apartment found the handgun used in the slaying. Kenck also says they found four pizza boxes that Varnadore had been delivering to the suspects’ address. He says $62 was found in Varnadore’s pocket.

Kenck says both suspects blame the other for the shooting.
