Gwinnett County police are asking for the public’s help identifying the man tied to a robbery spree spanning five gas stations in three counties.

The crime spree began at about 2:30 a.m. on July 11, when the unidentified man robbed the Sam’s Mart at 1745 Indian Trail-Lilburn Road, Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said. The suspect pointed a pistol at the cashier and was given $180 before he ran away.

Since then, the same suspect has been tied to robberies at four other gas stations, Washington said:

• a July 12 incident at the Shell station at 3799 Buford Highway in Brookhaven;

• a July 18 incident at the Sam’s Mart at 3841 Satellite Boulevard in Duluth;

• a July 19 incident at the Sam’s Mart at 6185 Windward Parkway in Alpharetta;

• and a July 20 incident at the RaceTrac at 2682 Buford Drive in Buford.

On Thursday, Gwinnett County police released surveillance photos from the July 11 robbery. The photos show a man with a blue beanie cap and blue bandana covering his face. He is described as about 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, and is believed to be between 20 and 25 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwinnett police robbery unit detectives at 770-513-5300. Tipsters can also remain anonymous and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000 by contacting Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS or crimestoppersatlanta.org.
