Grandfather targeted in Cobb home invasion; 2 arrested, 2 at large

A grandfather told Channel 2 Action News four masked gunmen forced their way into his home????and stole cash, a computer and designer hand bags.

A 65-year-old grandfather was preparing to move Tuesday when he heard a knock at the door of his Cobb County residence.

“Next thing I know,” Duane Jett said, “there’s somebody in my bedroom, pointing a gun at my head.”

Four masked gunmen made off with cash and goods worth more than $1,000, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“They were tossing the apartment, looking for different things,” Cobb police Officer Sarah O’Hara said.

When officers arrived at the Ventnor Place residence near Marietta, the men ran from the scene. Police said a team of dogs tracked down two 21-year-olds, who were arrested and charged with armed robbery.

The other two men are still at large.

Jett said he tried to get a better look at the men, but it was hard because he was forced to stay on the floor.

That was where he prayed, according to the news station.

“Just see me through this one,” he said.

Turns out, suspects Marcellis Richardson and Romero Lindley were arrested previously on charges such as drugs and theft.

“Irresponsible,” Jett said of the suspects, “who don’t know what they’re doing.”
