A woman is accused of beating her 2-year-old daughter in Hall County while also possessing $400 worth of methamphetamine, authorities said.

Rebecca Anne Harris, 24, of Lula, allegedly caused the child to have visible bruising, swelling and abrasions on the side, leg and buttocks, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.

A family member saw the child’s injuries and reported them to the sheriff’s office.

The child is safe and in the custody of relatives, the release said. The Division of Family and Children Services has been notified.

Harris was arrested and allegedly had the meth in her possession, the release said.

She faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, first-degree child cruelty and battery (family violence), the release said. Harris was booked into the Hall County Jail.
