Authorities in Macon have charged a 19-year-old man in connection with Monday’s shooting of a Papa John’s Pizza delivery driver, the Macon Telegraph reported.
Brooklyn Rouse, who had been on the job for just two weeks, was at the front door of a residence when she was shot in the head, Bibb County sheriff’s officials said.
Rouse, 21, was subbing for a co-worker when she was shot, the newspaper reported. She is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital, the newspaper reported.
Jacob Elijah Miller, the suspected gunman, is at large, authorities said. Also, police arrested 26-year-old Alisha Genva Wilson in connection with the incident.
Five days before, one of Rouse's co-workers was shot in the shoulder while delivering a pizza to an address near where she was going, the newspaper reported.
“She was originally off,” said Frank Hurley, general manager of the Papa John’s location where Rouse worked. “I had a driver call in because of the last incident, so I called her in to cover his shift and then it happened to her.”

Since the other delivery driver was shot, at least nine of the store’s drivers have quit, Hurley told the Telegraph. The store is not delivering to that neighborhood for now because of safety concerns.
