A 3-year-old boy was found with a blood-alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit for an adult driver, Gainesville police said.

The boy's father, 20-year-old Marcus Daniel Allen, was charged with second-degree child cruelty, reckless conduct and obstruction of an officer, the Gainesville Times reported.

Allen attempted to run from police at the hospital where his child was taken.

He was being held Tuesday in the Hall County Jail, the newspaper reported.
