Gwinnett County police are looking for a suspect who they say followed a gas station owner home and robbed him at gunpoint.

The victim was driving from a Texaco in DeKalb County to his home in Gwinnett County about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8 when he realized someone was following him, police Cpl. Deon Washington said.

The victim took an alternate route and the suspect stopped following him, Washington said.

Thinking it was safe to go home, the victim continued the ride to Gwinnett.

But when the victim got to his destination, a man with “very nice teeth,” a short hairstyle and a gray jacket held the victim at gunpoint and demanded cash, Washington said.

The victim gave the suspect the gas station’s deposit.

Gwinnett police released a Georgia Bureau of Investigation sketch of the suspect, who may be in his late teens or early 20s and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-7. He had an average build and strong shoulders, Washington said.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
