Gainesville police are searching for two men in connection with a home invasion and stabbing that occurred inside an apartment Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Lenox Park Place about 1 p.m. after receiving a call about a man who was stabbed in the arm during an attempted burglary, authorities said.

Several people were inside the home when two men entered through an unlocked door to steal electronics and money, Gainesville police said in a news release.

When the men realized the apartment was occupied, they allegedly struck the victims multiple times.

At some point, one of the burglars pulled out a knife and stabbed a victim in the arm, authorities said. A second suspect was seen with a handgun, but the robbery victims told police he never fired it.

The suspects fled after taking the electronics and cash, police said.

Witnesses said both men were about 20 years old, 6 feet tall and roughly 160 pounds. The suspect with the gun was wearing a blue hoodie, red gloves and covered his face with a black bandanna. The suspect with the knife was wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and black gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

Channel 2's Tom Jones was there just minutes after the crash and said the boy was not conscious and several people were tending to him. His mother and friends were frantic.
