Fulton County police were searching for remains near a local park Saturday after a dog discovered a human skull, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The station reported that two cadaver dogs, four handlers and three Fulton County officers started their search on the 4400 block of Welcome All Road SW — not far from Welcome All Park — at about 10 a.m. They planned to search about 20 acres, an effort which could take days.

The search was triggered after a dog presented a human skull to its owner, Channel 2 said.

Authorities are also looking at unsolved missing persons cases because “they don’t believe the bones are fresh,” the station said.

Messages left with the Fulton County Police Department were not immediately returned Saturday.
