A man was shot and killed Sunday night while working on a car in south Fulton County.
Fulton County police spokeswoman Cpl. Kay Lester said officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Buckhurst Drive just before 6:30 p.m. and discovered a man with a gunshot wound. The man, later identified as 54-year-old College Park resident Gerald Lowe, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Channel 2 Action News reported that Lowe was working on a car when he was shot. Lester said he did not live at the home where he was killed.
“The investigation is ongoing and detectives are working on motive as well as following up on leads,” Lester said. “No suspects have been named at this time.”
Officers reported hearing additional gunfire while working the scene, but Lester said there was “no evidence to suggest” that it was directed at authorities.
