A man accused of injuring a U.S. Marshal by pinning him between two cars was arrested Monday night.

Shusta Gumbs was arrested at a home on Crystal Lake Road in Riverdale, U.S. Marshal spokesman Jim Joyner said. He initially refused to come out of the house, but was arrested without incident.

U.S. Marshals had been looking for Gumbs, 38, since Friday after he allegedly injured a Marshal who attempted to arrest him.

As the officer got out of a van to confront him, Gumbs pinned him against another car. Gumbs drove off, hitting a second car, then ditched the car at another location.

A warrant was out for his arrest in Douglas County after he failed to appear in court on weapons and narcotics charges.

The marshal was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with an injured right leg. His name and condition were not released.

A bystander was also taken to the hospital.

Gumbs is being held in the Fulton County Jail on aggravated assault against an officer charges. Joyner said he could face additional charges.

Authorities believe accomplices were helping hide Gumbs.
