A Florida girl is dead months after she drank boiling water out of a straw on a dare, state records show.
The 8-year-old told her mother's boyfriend, 29, late Sunday she couldn't breathe, according to records from the Florida Department of Children and Families. Minutes later she was unresponsive.
Rescue crews rushed the child, who lives in Palm Beach County, to a hospital where she was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. Monday.
State authorities investigated that March incident and at least nine other allegations of abuse or neglect involving the girl since her birth.
