Police are trying to find a missing dog and the man who is accused of stealing her from a Dunwoody home, officials said.

Marquez Angelo Young, 28, is wanted on a charge of first-degree burglary after investigators said he stole a 10-year-old Morgi, according to Dunwoody police spokesman Sgt. Robert Parsons.

Parsons said Young went to a home on Winterbourne Court about 1:15 p.m. Monday and took two dogs from the location. It is not clear how he got inside the home.

The homeowner confronted Young, but the man got into a black 2013 Kia Optima and drove off.

One of the dogs was later found dead after it was hit by a car a short distance away, Parsons said. The other dog, who is named Daisy, has not been found.

Parsons said additional charges of animal cruelty are forthcoming in the case.

Anyone with information about where Young or Daisy might be is asked to contact Dunwoody police. Young is described as about 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds. He was last seen in the Kia with Georgia license plate EVR138.

The dog weighs about 15 pounds and is on medication for a heart condition. Daisy is not chipped, but has a pink collar that includes her owner’s contact information.
