A woman is facing DUI and other charges in connection with a recent crash on I-75 in Cobb County, authorities said.

Samantha Zacharias, 20, of Essex, Ill., was charged with DUI/marijuana or controlled substance; possession of less than an ounce of marijuana; failure to maintain lane; not using due care; and failing to use a seat belt, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The accident happened Friday on I-75 at South Marietta Parkway when the southbound car driven by Zacharias struck a temporary barrier wall, the agency said at the time.

Zacharias was ejected, the GSP said. Marietta fire freed the passenger, Ashlee Fife, 28, of Plainfield, Ill., who was in the back seat.

Zacharias and Fife were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the GSP said.

No other injuries were reported. Traffic was delayed on the interstate for hours because of the crash.
