A man who left the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident in southwest Atlanta was arrested on vehicular homicide, hit-and-run and other charges, police said.

Jevon Cedric Little of Atlanta briefly stopped after hitting Carolyn Teagle about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Cleveland and Third avenues, police spokeswoman Kim Jones said. He left the scene and returned about 30 minutes later, she said.

Teagle, 61, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with massive head trauma. She did not survive.

In addition to vehicular homicide and hit-and-run, Little was charged with reckless driving and failure to yield at a crosswalk, according to Fulton County jail records.

Little has an Oct. 7 court date after a first-appearance hearing Friday, Fulton County jail spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said. Bond was set at $30,000.
