Police in Athens are asking for the public’s help after a 52-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run Tuesday night.
When officers responded about 10 p.m. to Commerce Road near the Ga. 10 Loop, they found Kimberly Pierce unresponsive, Athens-Clarke County police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez said.
Emergency medical crews pronounced Pierce dead, Rodriguez said.

Investigators said Pierce was crossing Commerce Road from the Bulldog Inn when a green Honda with tinted windows hit her without stopping.
The car, believed to be a model from the 1990s, may have front-end damage, according to police.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Sgt. Butt at 706-208-1718, ext. 226.
Police also are trying to get possible surveillance video of the incident from businesses in the area.
