A Douglasville police detective resigned amid an investigation into his involvement with a local gang, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Former detective Clint Ratliff denied multiple times that he told his wife detailed information about a pending gang investigation, according to a videotaped interrogation obtained by Channel 2.

After three days of questioning, Ratliff admitted he made poor choices.

Police determined that Ratliff lied about knowing of his wife’s affair with an alleged gang leader and giving her information about a pending police investigation into that group.

Additionally, Ratliff is accused of carrying naked pictures of his wife on a city-issued cellphone and accessing criminal records for his wife’s vendetta against her family.

Investigators told Channel 2 that Ratliff’s actions caused another detective to be harassed by known criminals at the center of the alleged gang investigation.

The organization that licenses law enforcement officials will continue its investigation of Ratliff, which could take another 12 to 18 months. During that time, Ratliff will remain a certified official who resigned his position in lieu of termination.

The former detective acknowledged his wrongdoing when it comes to lying and told Channel 2 he is still deciding if he wants to tell his side of the story.
