A DeKalb County student is accused of taking a handgun to a high school Thursday, the school district confirmed.
The Martin Luther King Jr. High School student was found with the weapon and arrested, the DeKalb County School District said in a statement. The age of the student was not released.
The student is being charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, the statement said. It’s unclear where on campus the incident took place and whether the firearm was loaded.
No one was injured. No other details have been released.
“The security of our students and staff continues to be our top priority, and we are committed to creating a safe learning environment for all,” the statement said.
Also on Thursday, a man was arrested at another DeKalb school after allegedly pulling out a gun during an argument with another adult, AJC.com previously reported.

Decarlos Moses of Ellenwood faces a charge of carrying a weapon within a school zone after the incident, which took place at Columbia Elementary School.
