The man accused in more than 80 property crimes — mostly slashing tires — has been arrested, the DeKalb County police department said Saturday.
Lee Twan Culbreath, 34, was arrested late Friday with assistance from the GBI and Roswell police, according to Michaela Vincent, spokeswoman for DeKalb police.
“Most of the property damage crimes were tire-slashing incidents which occurred at our headquarters, a nearby nursing home, and many other locations,” Vincent said in an emailed statement.
On Christmas Eve, 10 vehicles had tires slashed at an apartment complex for senior adults, Channel 2 Action News reported.
“What kind of bully targets seniors?” one victim asked Channel 2.
George Meyer said he would have to use part of his rent money to replace his tire that was slashed.
The same day, a second senior complex was also targeted. Late last week, tires were slashed at a library facility, Channel 2 reported.
Investigators did not release details on how Culbreath was linked to the crimes or a possible motive.
Culbreath, who lives in Stone Mountain, was charged with one count of interference with government property, DeKalb jail records showed. He was being held without bond late Saturday.
