A father who took his daughter after breaking into his ex-girlfriend's apartment has been charged with kidnapping, home invasion and related charges, DeKalb police said Monday.

Amadou Barry, 29, was arrested in Lexington, Ky., where 7-year-old daughter Ramatoulaye Barry was found "safe and unharmed," police Capt. Stephen Fore previously said.

DeKalb authorities will file for extradition, Fore said.

According to police, Barry entered his ex-girlfriend’s unit at the Covington Glen Apartments on Covington Highway through a second-floor window. Once inside, Barry held her and her current boyfriend at gunpoint, beat up his ex-girlfriend until she became unconscious, and fled with Ramatoulaye, police said.

The girl has been reunited with her family, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Njie Yankuba, 26, was arrested with Barry and has been charged with kidnapping, home invasion and related charges, Fore said.
