An elementary school student in DeKalb County will be charged with terroristic threats after allegedly making a “kill list” at school, officials told Channel 2 Action News.

The incident took place at Montgomery Elementary, the school district confirmed to Channel 2 on Monday afternoon. It’s unclear when the list was discovered by school police or administrators.

The district did not go into detail about what happened, but a spokesperson sent Channel 2 a statement that said, “DeKalb County School Police responded and investigated an alleged kill list by a Montgomery Elementary School student.”

School police and the DeKalb Juvenile Court decided the student will be charged but will not be arrested and processed at the juvenile detention center due to the child’s age, the statement continued.

Counselors and social workers were made aware of the situation and can provide support for students and families at the school, Channel 2 reported.

AJC.com has reached out to the school district for more information.
