A DeKalb County armed robbery suspect who eluded a SWAT team last week was caught Wednesday night, police said.

William Jalvon McLeod, 24, was considered armed and dangerous after a SWAT team followed him into a relative's apartment and fired tear gas, only to find he was gone.

The July 26 arrest attempt was for charges made in September that McLeod allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint, held him to the ground and kicked him in the head. McLeod is also accused of making threats against police officers on Facebook, where pictures showed him holding an AR-15 assault rifle and a handgun.

After McLeod ran from the scene, a warrant was issued charging him with obstruction. He had boasted on social media about his ability to elude law enforcement authorities, according to a DeKalb Sheriff’s Office release.

McLeod was located and arrested without incident Wednesday by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office’s fugitive unit, which worked with the U.S. Marshals and the DeKalb County Police Department.
