DeKalb County police are looking for a customer who opened fire on a sports bar after being escorted out.

About 2 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 360 Sports Bar and Lounge in the 4800 block of Redan Road, which is near Stone Mountain, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said. They learned a security guard broke up a fight between two customers and kicked them out of the bar.

According to a police incident report, one of the ejected customers threatened to “get my gun.” The guard went back inside the bar.

As he was standing by the front door, the guard heard several shots, police said. There were as many as 12 people inside the bar at the time.

A bullet hit the guard in the chest area of his bulletproof vest, and he returned fire, according to the incident report.

While the bullet did not go through his vest, the guard was taken to a local hospital for observation.

No other injuries were reported.

The guard could not give a good description of the shooter’s vehicle, police said. The bar does have surveillance video, but the owner was not there to operate the system and release the footage when police got to the scene, Spencer said.
