Two people are in custody in connection with a Dec. 3 robbery and shooting in Haralson County that left a man paralyzed.

Authorities on Wednesday arrested CJ Thomas Ward, 18, in Villa Rica, according to Jim Beck, spokesman for the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office. Previously, Kenneth Tyler Hall, 19, had been taken into custody.

They are charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, Haralson County Sheriff Eddie Mixon said in a Facebook post.

A driver found the victim, Sidney Hunt, lying in the middle of Baxter Road, Mixon said. Hunt told first responders that he had been robbed and shot. Ward and Hall were seen with Hunt within an hour of the 911 call.

Hunt, who is still at Grady Memorial Hospital, is paralyzed from the neck down after a bullet severed his spinal cord, Mixon said. He remains in intensive care.

The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, the GBI and the Georgia State Patrol were involved in the investigation at the scene.
