An uncle and his nephew are wanted in Clayton County after participating in a high-speed chase that led to the death of a 17-year-old driver, authorities said.

Rodney Harris, 44, of Fayetteville, and his nephew, Montreaz Harris, 28, of Atlanta, were passengers in the vehicle that caused the crash, killing Jada Deleonardo of Decatur, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Two other suspects, including the driver of the fleeing vehicle, are already in custody, deputies said.

The incident began about 3 a.m. May 10, when deputies tried to arrest Sebastin Miles Jr., 28, of Riverdale, on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant, the release said. Miles is accused of trying to run over his girlfriend with a car.

Miles sped away from deputies in a Mitsubishi Galant when they arrived, the release said. Brandon Wyldon, 31, of Riverdale, was in the car along with Rodney and Montreaz Harris, authorities said.

The chase ended in DeKalb County when Miles allegedly ran a red light and hit Deleonardo’s Chevrolet Cavalier on Moreland Avenue,  AJC.com previously reported.

Inside the Mitsubishi, deputies said they found a felony amount of a schedule II controlled substance, leading to charges against all four men. The specific drug was not released.

All four suspects were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after the crash. Miles was arrested on 18 charges, including counts of aggravated assault, fleeing police and obstruction, while the other three were eventually released without being arrested.

The sheriff’s office did not say why the three suspects were released only to be charged later.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the deadly crash, and the sheriff’s office said troopers plan to add a vehicular homicide charge against Miles when the investigation concludes. A GSP spokeswoman told AJC.com that no other details are available since the crash investigation is ongoing.

Wyldon was arrested May 19 on his outstanding charges, leaving Rodney and Montreaz Harris on the run by themselves, the sheriff’s office said.
