An 18-year-old was arrested last week after being accused of kidnapping and sodomizing a fellow high school student last August.

Luis Eduardo Perez of Gainesville faces six charges after the alleged victim revealed what took place to a teacher, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

In August, the victim accepted a ride home from Perez, and while they were in his vehicle, he’s accused of touching her without her consent. The victim told authorities she verbally and physically resisted Perez’s advances.

While the car’s doors were locked, Perez drove the victim to a secluded location in the 600 block of Moreno Street, the release said. He then allegedly tried to sodomize her as she resisted.

During the struggle, he punched her in the face, resulting in bruising, the release said. He eventually gave up and drove the victim home, deputies said.

The student discussed the incident with a teacher Jan. 21, leading to the sheriff’s office launching an investigation. Authorities did not specify the high school.

Perez was arrested Wednesday on counts of aggravated sodomy, kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery and two counts of sexual battery. The victim’s age was not provided, but the sexual battery charges specify that she is older than 16.

Perez remained in the Hall County Jail on Monday without bond, jail records show.
