Cops: Suspect stabbed, killed man during Cobb graduation party

Marietta police have arrested a 20-year-old Paulding County man in a fatal Saturday night stabbing.

Police have charged Dallas resident Lintrel Gilbert with felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault. They say Gilbert stabbed 36-year-old John Benson, also of Dallas, at a graduation party at Laurel Park on Manning Road.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. According to police, officers responded to a reported stabbing at the park. They found the victim with multiple stab wounds and rushed him to Kennestone Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Gilbert is in custody at the Cobb County jail.
