Two women and five men were arrested Wednesday by authorities after one of them allegedly sent an aggressive dog to attack police officers in Dahlonega.

Deputies went to the 100 block of Silverwood Drive to search for Justin Brister, 29, of Dahlonega, who had several warrants out of Lumpkin and Hall counties, the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

While trying to arrest Brister, deputies came across four other men and two women, which is when Brister released an aggressive dog and ran back inside the house, the release said.

Deputies were able to escape the attacking dog unscathed, and when the people inside the home were surrounded by deputies, four of them turned themselves in, the release said. Deputies checked the rest of the residence and found two more people hiding and arrested them.
