A four-hour manhunt in Cobb County ended with the arrest of a man who police say took a 12-year-old girl from her home and sexually assaulted her.

William Tyler Duke was arrested Monday afternoon after police say he took the girl even after being told her age, according to an arrest warrant.

Duke, 20, of Marietta, told the victim’s sister’s boyfriend that "he was not thinking of returning her home,” warrants allege. Police said he sexually assaulted the girl in his Ford Expedition along Heck Road in Kennesaw.

He then led police on a manhunt in Kennesaw, Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce said. Police have not said what led them to Duke.

He faces aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, statutory rape and interference with custody charges, according to jail records.

He remained in the Cobb County jail on Tuesday evening.
