A man was beaten, stabbed and thrown into the trunk of a car by three others he planned to commit a robbery with in LaGrange, Troup County deputies said Tuesday.
Authorities were called to the 2200 block of New Hutchinson Mill Road on July 11 after 20-year-old Siemeon Sneed was discovered badly injured and bleeding on the side of the road, Troup County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Stewart Smith said.
Authorities said Sneed was beaten and stabbed at least eight times. He told investigators he met the accomplices in Atlanta on July 10. As they were traveling to LaGrange, however, the three others allegedly turned on him, beating and kicking him until he was unconscious before shoving him into the trunk of a car.
Sneed told authorities the men planned to drive him somewhere and kill him. He said he was able to escape after regaining consciousness, pulling the emergency trunk release and jumping out of the vehicle.
The other men reportedly fled the area after realizing that Sneed escaped their car, Smith said.
One of the men, identified by police as 30-year-old Kadezmeon Lovett of Morrow, has been arrested on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, robbery and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. Two others — 29-year-old Thillinius Gray of LaGrange and an unknown third suspect — remain at large, authorities said.
Gray is wanted on multiple charges, including criminal attempt to commit murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a knife during certain times. His last known location is the Addie Street area of LaGrange, the sheriff’s office said.
Anyone with information on Gray or the other man’s whereabouts is asked to call detectives at 706-883-1616 or Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
