A Gwinnett County man was arrested Thursday after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend’s uncle with a machete, authorities said.

Barry Andrew Webb, 29, of Lawrenceville, faces 16 charges, including 13 felonies, in connection with an incident in the 2000 block of Planters Cove Drive on New Year’s Eve, Gwinnett authorities said.

When police arrived at the home, a woman told them that Webb, who was her niece's ex-boyfriend, kicked opened the door and attacked her brother with a machete, a police incident report said.

Webb is accused of striking the man on the right side of his face before chasing the woman through the house, the report said. Webb’s 7-year-old son witnessed the incident.

Another family member confronted Webb and yelled at him to get out of the house, which he did, the report said.

The man cut by the machete was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Webb’s charges include four counts of aggravated assault, five counts of felony probation violation and possession of methamphetamine, jail records show. He remains in jail without bond.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office arrested Webb last week, which is when deputies also arrested two other men wanted in connection with violent crimes.

On Wednesday, Gary Amir-Tournique Lee, 26, of Norcross, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend with a gun, holding her captive and threatening to kill her Dec. 30, according to a police incident report. He faces four charges, including aggravated assault, terroristic threats and kidnapping, according to jail records. He remains in jail without bond.

On Thursday, Francisco Javier Sosa, 18, of Norcross, was arrested in connection with a homicide in Prince George’s County, Md., the sheriff’s office said. He remains in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond until his extradition to Maryland.
