A man already in the Gwinnett County jail on drug charges is now accused of trying to hire an undercover deputy for a murder-for-hire scheme, according to police.
Jeffrey Van Ngo, of Norcross, was arrested March 19 and charged with drug possession and intent to distribute, Deputy Shannon Volkodav with the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office said today.
Ngo was being held without bond, jail records show. Now he also has been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony crime and criminal attempt to commit a felony crime after an investigation into new allegations, Volkodav said.
The additional warrants were served without incident at the jail.
No further details were released about the investigation.
