Lynwood Clarence Bonner is accused of trafficking several illegal drugs and items in Marietta last week.

A Fayetteville man was arrested last week at a Marietta motel after police said they found methamphetamine, other drugs and a stolen weapon.

Lynwood Clarence Bonner, 35, who Marietta police described as a gang member, faces eight felonies after the arrest last Thursday at the Rodeway Inn & Suites off Delk Road. Police added that Bonner's tattoos are consistent with those of the Ghost Face Gangsters, a white supremacist prison gang.

An officer was patrolling around motels near Delk Road and I-75 when he discovered Bonner, police said in a Facebook post. Bonner was near his vehicle when the officer approached him.

When asked for his name and birthday, Bonner gave the officer information that matched the identity of someone else, according to arrest warrants. The officer said he later seized a stolen ID from Bonner.

At the same time, the officer found about 3.4 ounces (95.5 grams) of meth in Bonner’s front pocket, the warrants said. The officer also seized 145 Alprozalom pills and two grams of marijuana. In Bonner’s vehicle, the officer found two guns, including a stolen .22-caliber rifle, the warrants said.

The department also accused Bonner of running a “counterfeit identity operation” from his motel room, but another agency is handling that portion of the investigation.

When Bonner was being arrested, he told the officer that he was the “Chief Violator of the Ghost Face Gangsters,” adding that he joined the gang while incarcerated at Calhoun State Prison, the warrants said.

That was one of his six stints in prison, according to Georgia Department of Corrections records. He’s spent about a decade behind bars since 2003.

Bonner’s prior convictions include cocaine possession, meth possession, aggravated assault, burglary, criminal damage to property and fleeing police, GDC records show. Those crimes took place in Baldwin and Spalding counties.

He remains in the Cobb County jail without bond, records show.
