A Creekside High School teacher preparing to leave for work was carjacked, pistol-whipped, sexually assaulted and forced to go to an ATM in south Fulton County early Friday, according to East Point police..

Police said the woman was outside her apartment and had stopped to take a selfie photo when she saw a man approaching, holding a gun.

She jumped into her car to escape, but the man jumped into the back seat and demanded money, police said.

“She said, ‘I don’t have any money’, and he said, ‘Take me to the bank then and get some money,’” Maj. Russell Popham told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

When she pulled into a Wells Fargo parking lot, she managed to escape, Popham said.

“She thought it was now or never, and she jumped from a moving vehicle,” Popham said. “She is really terrified.”

During the kidnapping, the gunman sexually assaulted the woman, police said.

The man also hit the woman several times in the forehead with his gun. The pistol-whipping did not cause serious injury, the major said, although it did leave marks.

The assailant took off with the woman’s car, which was found at another apartment complex nearby, the major said.

Police said they have a suspect in mind and were in the process of showing the victim a photo lineup.

Witnesses who saw the victim running away called 911.
