Chaney, 26, was arrested Monday after an anonymous tipster led police to a Gwinnett County apartment complex parking lot, where Chaney was found, Channel 2 reported.

Police believe Chaney had been in the parking lot for seven hours, according to the news station. The girl also showed signs of trouble as she was strapped in her car seat.

“It was a rainy day, but the temperature was high,” Gwinnett County police Officer Sam Flynn said. “The child was flushed and appeared to be hot and in distress.”

Parts of metro Atlanta reached the mid-80s Monday.

Firefighters on the scene woke up Chaney, who failed a sobriety test, Channel 2 reported.

She was previously arrested for identity fraud, trespass and public indecency, Channel 2 reported. The child is being cared for by a friend who lives at the apartment complex.
