Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle with its headlight off in southeast Atlanta on Monday evening.

A 1997 Honda motorcycle with two occupants was traveling east on Memorial Drive near Park Avenue, Atlanta police spokeswoman Stephanie Brown told AJC.com. Witnesses told police the motorcycle was going faster than the speed limit.

A car traveling west on Memorial Drive was turning left onto Park Avenue when it was hit by the motorcycle, Brown said. The driver of the car remained at the scene, and no charges are anticipated against the driver.

Brown said police were called about the wreck at 7:58 p.m.

The woman driving the motorcycle and the passenger, who was thrown over the car upon impact, were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, she said.

No other details have been released. An investigation is ongoing.
