Officials are trying to track down a felon who walked away from a transitional facility.

The Georgia Department of Corrections said 41-year-old Michael Lamar Dais left the Atlanta Transitional Center on Monday morning. Records show he is serving a 12-year sentence for robbery in Chatham County. He is not scheduled to be released until October 2022.

The Atlanta Transitional Center prepares “adult male felons who are nearing the end of their incarceration to assume responsible citizenship,” according to the facility’s website.

State corrections officials describe Dais as about 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds. He has black hair and green eyes.

Anyone who encounters Dais should not approach him and should call 478-992-5111.
