Cobb police seek suspect in attempted assault of jogger

Cobb County police are investigating after the attempted assault of a young jogger in Powder Springs. Authorities released a sketch of the suspect Thursday.

A girl told police that she was jogging on Gaydon Road near Sassafrass Lane on Saturday afternoon when a man approached her from behind and ran toward her. She said she pushed him away. He then ran to a waiting four-door pickup truck and got in the back seat. The truck, described as a newer model Dodge Ram 1500 with tinted windows and a Georgia tag, fled the scene.

A GBI forensic artist created the sketch of the suspect. The girl described the suspect as a white male about 18 to 20 years old. He is about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing gym shorts and a hoodie.
