A Marietta man was booked into jail Nov. 5 after police say he shot a car and a woman with a paintball gun in an I-75 road rage incident.

Jose Luis Martinez was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, reckless conduct, aggressive driving and other counts.

He was driving a GMC Sierra pick-up truck south on I-75 near I-575 about 9 p.m. Nov. 5 when he started tailgating a Honda Accord, an arrest warrant said.

Martinez started flashing his high beams and honking because the car had cut him off, the warrant said.

And then he pulled out a paintball gun.

While driving, he fired a Tippmann brand Cronus paintball gun about five times at the car, hitting the exterior and interior.

A paintball also hit the left side of the driver's forehead, which police said was swollen when they interviewed the woman.

He was released from jail Nov. 9 after paying a bond of $38,720.
