Cobb County captured a fugitive Thursday that authorities had been hunting for six years, said Robert Quigley, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Deputies working with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Jamar Scott, 36, who was wanted on seven counts of armed robbery. Scott was apprehended on Cedarbrook Drive in Marietta after authorities received a tip several days ago that he was in the area, Quigley said.

Scott is accused of robbing seven people at gunpoint on Pine Street in Marietta in 2009. Countless hours were devoted to catching him, according to Quigley.

He is in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
