A Clayton County high school teacher went before a judge Thursday for allegedly stealing money that was raised to fund a cheerleading team trip.

Channel 2 Action News reports now-former cheerleading coach Kenisha Washington, 35, was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $33,000, some of which was raised by parents in order to send their children to a cheerleading camp in Panama City, Fla. She is also accused of forging her principal’s signature on a form to pay $9,600 for a cheerleading camp in Florida — to which only some students were able to go, according to Channel 2.

Washington, who has since resigned from Charles Drew High School, is being charged with felony theft by conversion and first-degree forgery. According to Channel 2, she won’t admit to stealing the full $33,000 and is out of jail on a $20,000 bond.
