Police are searching for a man who they say stabbed and killed his roommate in Chamblee early Monday.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 37-year-old Hermelindo Escobar-Camacho, who investigators say killed Wilmer Morales-Camacho inside their unit in the Chamblee Heights Apartments on Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Chamblee police Capt. Ernesto Ford said in a news release issued Tuesday.
He told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Escobar-Camacho and Morales-Camacho may be related, but he could not immediately verify the relationship.
Police said Escobar-Camacho left the scene in his 1997 Tacoma pickup truck with Georgia license tag PWX6471. Family members said the truck is green in color.
While investigators have determined that Morales-Camacho was stabbed between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday, a relative did not discover the body and call police until about 8:30 a.m., Ford said.
Anyone with information concerning the suspect or the vehicle is asked to contact Chamblee police at 770-986-5000.
