Carjackers crashed stolen van into power pole, police say

Police are trying to find the people they say stole a woman’s van at gunpoint outside a CVS store, crashed it into a utility pole and ran away.
Officers were sent to the CVS at 520 Boulevard about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. A woman was making a delivery to the pharmacy when a black Nissan Altima blocked her van in, police told Channel 2 Action News.
A suspect got out of the car, pulled out a gun and took the woman’s van. Then, the armed suspect took off.

The suspect drove about three miles before crashing into a power pole in the area of Hill Street, police said. The suspect then ran away from the scene, according to police.
The van has been recovered.
