A man accidentally drove his car through a fence and onto the roof of a business before flipping over and landing upside down in northwest Atlanta, Atlanta Fire Rescue confirmed to AJC.com.
Channel 2 Action News reported that the 63-year-old driver lost control Monday while driving down Marietta Street.
He was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, Sgt. Cortez Stafford said.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m. on Marietta Street at Brady Avenue atop Dr. Aletha Chappelear’s chiropractic office.
She told Channel 2 she was with a patient when she saw the car dangling from the roof before it came crashing down.
“I took off running and checked both doors,” Chappelear said. “The driver’s side door wouldn’t open.”
Bystanders said the car narrowly missed crushing another man.
Chappelear said the driver told her his foot got stuck on the accelerator.
“If you look at the position of the car, and the area of where his head was,” Chappelear told Channel 2, “it’s a miracle that he’s OK.”
