Two people died when a car crashed into a home in Conyers on Thursday night, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Smyrna Road and Lost Forest Lane, according to the GSP.

According to the GSP, driver Maurice Shields Jr., 19, from Lithonia, was speeding down Smyrna Road when his car left the shoulder, drove through a fence and struck the side of a house.

The front-seat passenger, Marisa Kirtz, 19, of Lithonia, also died in the crash, police said. No one inside the home was injured.
