About three hours after he shot his wife inside the Covington grocery store where she worked, Jimquez Swiney was captured without incident Tuesday morning, police said.

Swiney, 33, attempted to break into a home near the Ingles where the shooting took place, Covington police spokesman Allan Seebaran said. Responding officers found Swiney walking down a street unarmed.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the woman was shot in the arm at the store in the 7100 block of Turner Lake Road. She was released from a local hospital after treatment, Seebaran said.

Swiney was charged with aggravated assault, according to Seebaran.

Police are still searching for the weapon used in the shooting,  which was reported shortly after 8 a.m. Swiney ran out the back of the store after the incident, police said.

Police used a drone to search for Swiney in a wooded area near the store.
