A woman was shot in the face during a southwest Atlanta drive-by shooting Monday afternoon, according to police.

Just before 6 p.m., officers found the injured woman along Myrtle Drive, Atlanta police said. She was conscious and breathing at the scene and is currently stable at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Investigators believe someone in a vehicle shot the woman before speeding away. Descriptions for the suspect and vehicle were not available.

No other information on the incident was released. The investigation is ongoing.
