A man walking with his young children found a woman dead in a DeKalb County creek near Redan High School, police said.
Police responded to the 4900 block of Fieldgreen Drive about 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, according to a DeKalb police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The man told authorities he was walking in the woods with his children, ages 2, 3 and 4. One of them had to use the restroom. That’s when the man found the woman fully clothed and face down in the creek, which is about 3 feet deep, police said. She had been shot.
The woman was later identified by the DeKalb medical examiner’s office as 25-year-old Tekeila Calloway.
Neighbors told Channel 2 Action News they heard gunshots the night before, but thought nothing of it.
